Invalidation is oppression. In this incidence when you are trying hard to minimize other peoples trauma response yes you are an oppressor.

Its a role that all of us fall in at times in our lives, usually unconsciously. Invalidating others is unfortunately a very common thing in our culture.

I do feel angry because my life as a minority female and a trauma survivor has been endangered by those who voted for DT and yes I do feel hostility from this population.

I also have enough trauma recovery to know that my anger while perfectly valid is bigger than warranted because it includes a PTSD response.

I don’t think Trump supporters are evil. I believe life experiences lead is to where we are in life but does not mean I excuse that there will be consequences for people like me.

I am also saddened because for the first time I have seen the USA abandon her values of protecting vulnerable populations.
